Beauty In Chaos – Bayonetta – 2 Hours In…

htc diamond 2 pics - bayonetta 015My wife got me Bayonetta as an anniversary gift and I must say, the time I have put into it so far, has been nothing short of an adrenaline rush!!! Firstly as Marauderz puts it, “Bayonetta is probably the only game thus far that thrusts the player into the action before an intro movie”… and you know what, he’s right… The player is thrown into the mix of killing all that is angelic in what??? 30 secs from the title screen… All this without even a hint of what the controls

are, while some might scoff at the lack of overly self indulgent cutscene ala Kojima to set the mood and pace of things to come, I prefer wanton destruction and narration accompanying meat showers any day!!!

The action comes in from all angles thick and fast and even through all that, the game engages you in a way that motivates you to play better, dispatch the enemies quicker and performing the most visually impressive combos that you can think of…

In between the action there are several QTE and puzzle segments to inject some variation in the game but these serve on to make you yearn the next fight more as you cannot wait to try out a new combo on the next unsuspecting enemy…

While I have not played the game as much as I would have liked, it has passed the ever-so-important-two-hour test, meaning that if it can still hold my attention after two hours of gameplay, it is definitely a game worth playing…

TweetDeck Vs DestroyTwitter Vs Feedalizr

As we are pretty much spoilt for chice when it comes to twitter apps these days, I thought I would give a couple a spin to see how they fare…

Here are the contenders, TweetDeck, DestroyTwitter and Feedalizr…

image

While this is not an exhaustive review of each, it does highlight what I like and dislike about each of them…

image

TweetDeck is probably the one out of the three that I have used most, and for good reason, not only can I use it for twitter, you can use it for facebook as well (note: you can also use it for MySpace)!!! This will allow a user to save time as facebook and twitter can be updated at the same time… It is also possible to comment and like facebook status updates in TweetDeck…

In its latest incarnation, TweetDeck pops up a notification window on screen together with a preview of the tweet or facebook status update for your ease of reference…

image

TweetDeck is also very well laid out as you can view all your columns at the same time (laid out side by side)…

It may be because of this that its resource usage is the highest of the three apps listed here…

DestroyTwitter is a lightweight twitter app that uses tabs to keep the clutter to the absolute minimum…

 image

As I mentioned earlier, DestroyTwitter is a lightweight app… So lightweight in fact that it consumes the lowest resources out of all three apps… I would highly recommend this for netbook users…

However, do not be fooled by its minimalist appearance, it has all the bells and whistles that the other apps have and it suports multiple accounts!!!

Unfortunately, DestroyTwitter doesn’t do facebook so it does not meet the requirement of some users who want one app to update both their facebook and their twtter at the same time…

Feedalizr could be best described as a mashup of both TweetDeck and DestroyTwitter… It has a very clean and streamlined minimalist interface and it does more than just twitter!!!

image

It also has notifications to alert you of new updates!!!

image

The notifications are less obstructive compared to the TweetDeck ones due to their relatively smaller size and also let you know via icons as to the type of update it is (for example, in the above sample notification, there is a twitter log to alert you that the update came via twitter)…

Overall, all three apps are very nice and work well… I hope this little comparo helps you narrow down your choices when it comes to which app to use… Take note however, that the best way to find out which app suits you best is to use it yourself for at least a couple days…
