Blue Dragon Revisited...

Well I finally popped Blue Dragon into the 360 after neglecting it for a couple months and I can't seem to figure out why I've not been giving it the time and attention it deserves... The story arc (although predictable) brings memories of a time when the story behind the game mattered more than the shiny graphics (or fancy physics engines)... Its like having my very own time machine, as I was whizzed back a good 15 years or so...

So Excited!!!

Bargains!!!

Have been busy with work and traveling the whole weekend, but I did manage to take some time and get some decent bargains (with relation to pre-owned games)!!! Picked up Rayman: Raving Rabbids (for RM 80) and Gun (for RM 45)...

Also managed to squeeze in some time to get a replacement for my buggy Blue Dragon DVD's... nice!!!

I Am So Bored...

I'm currently 360-less in Ipoh (if only I could play forza 2 or blue dragon) and its getting to me... the spotty internet connection is not helping as well... to make matters worse, everyone is currently obsessed with the korean series "jewel in the palace"... the most exciting event for the whole day was probably a visit to the sundry store down the street... yes its that bad... Someone help me please...

Oh and I still need help in deciding which car to get... So if you can please give me some feedback...

Wow...

I have been spending an unhealthy amount of time on blue dragon... 20 hours so far... man... Is there still hope for me???

Overload...

Its a good day for gaming today... Squeezed in some blue dragon, some halo 3 and then more blue dragon... sweetness...

The pace of the story in blue dragon is just about right... It makes you feel like you're in charge of the adventure rather than a witness of a series of unavoidable events... Its attention to details such as the pacing that makes this a game a memorable one... Showing all the enemies on the field (ala FF- XII) is a nice touch as well... Random encounters would seriously make this game suck... The game however is not without its faults... the frequent loading times although short makes the game feel a little disjointed at times... maybe I am overly critical but the game is just a little shy from being perfect... hopefully they'll address the issue in the sequel (apparently blue dragon 2 and 3 have been announced)...




On the h3 front, I finally made it to sergeant grade 3... I wonder how long it'll take before I get to gunnery sergeant... Will I even make it there before the beta ends??? Hmmm... only time will tell I guess...

Wow What Speedy Service...

Fedex finally delivered Kinky Nicky's Blue Dragon this afternoon and from what he's been telling me, I have to agree with him... the service is horrible... It reached a point when he was to blame for the late clearance... if you want to know more you can visit his blog...

Blue Dragon!!!

One word... Stunning... I dare call it a mastepiece even... looks like the boys (and girls) at Mistwalker pulled through and delivered a cracking product!!! The game reminds me of what rpgs should be...

Everything feels just about right... the story is moves along well, the combat mechanics are straight forward, there is a nice variation of enemies, the skills and classes are varied and make for some interesting combinations and most importantly, the characters are highly likeable...

There was an interesting leaftlet in the box as well (which I have not reproduced here because the code is redeemable only once)... Basically you go to www.friendsonlive.com, key in the code and you'll be entitled to a mystery gift... I don't know what the gift is as the site is down right now but I hope its some unique in game content... Well enough talk... time for more blue dragon...
