The best thing about kids is that they are brutally honest… The have not been in society long enough to become accustomed to padding their comments and they genuinely tell you how they feel about everything…
While this is refreshing most of the time, I personally witnessed one incident which would lead to a potential suicide attempt… This was what happened:
Venue: One Utama (New Wing – Ground Floor Level near the Asiasoft booths)
The scene: Several cosplayers potraying characters from different games walking around the general vicinity of the booths offering to pose for pictures
The target audience: Gamers and the general public
What happened: A cosplayer in a medieval costume approached a young boy (approximately 5 years old) and asked if he wanted to get his photo taken with her… The parents gleefully whipped out the cellphones and asked their son to pose, to he responded:
“BUT I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE PRETTY JIE JIE!!! NOT THIS ONE!!!” (while stamping his feet and pointing at another cosplayer in shorts and police uniform)…
So if you read about a cosplayer in a medieval costume jumping off One Utama, you know why she did it…
