Its been a hectic but good Sunday so far... Here are the highlights...

Life As We Know It Has Changed For the Better...

Ahem... this is a very important announcement... Jeanie and I have just purchased a blinking new 43" Samsung HDTV!!! Read that suckers... HDTV!!! High Definition TV... top range... Can you read it??? Top Range!!!

Its so clear and big that the minimum viewing distance is 10 feet... Yes!!! 10 FEET!!! Now I'm just waiting for my contact to confirm that he has the Xbox 360 in stock and I'm good to go... Life as we know it has definitely changed for the better...

I Want One!!!

Argh techno lust is reaching undocumented levels right now... I want a XBOX 360 NTSC/J Premium Pack and I want one now!!! No I will not give into common sense and wait a couple more months... And no I'm not worried about the documented heat issues... I just want one... if only I didn't look at the trailer for Project Gotham Racing 3... and if only I didn't get confirmation from a contact that I can get the bundle I want for RM2090.00 as opposed to other vendors who are selling it for RM400-RM600 more... I wouldn't be feeling the way I do...

The RM2090.00 price tag is a very big issue for two reasons... 1)Its blinking expensive and 2)Based on an exchange rate of 1CAD = RM3.12... it 14% cheaper than the Canadian price (after taking into account tax of course... and by tax I mean GST and PST)... so it the purchase really worth it? Well in short... yes and no...

The answer really depends on how I will be gaming... if I was to spend my time gaming alone (offline) than the Xbox 360 would be an utter waste of money... if I were to play offline and online, it would be a bloody marvelous purchase because it actually costs a whole lot less to buy the darn 360 than to upgrade my PC to make online games truly playable...

Next, is the purchase of the 360 really essential? In short... no it isn't... but would it be great to have... yes it jolly well would!!! The reasons are simple... 1)its a native HDTV device... so everything was designed with HDTV in mind... although I do not have a HDTV at the moment, Jeanie and I are looking into procurring one in the near future... 2)Project Gotham Racing 3 looks so beautiful that your eyes can bleed... Its like watching a dvd... its that beautiful and something that beautiful deserves to be appreciated... 3)Blinking online play... I mean smooth framerates and everything... no jerkiness... real time voice chat with the games... 4)I am shallow... hahahahahahaha...

Death of Another Brain Cell...

Muahahahaha my PSP collection swells even more today with the addition of Lumines... got it 2nd hand earlier this evening and I must say its a good buy for RM 85.00... well anyway the premise of the game is so simple that its makes you feel stupid... you must be thinking how hard can it be to stack blocks in time to a song's beat... simple you answer... so how come I'm still stuck at level 8??? I wonder how many brain cells have perished tonight...

My Second Xmas (with Jeanie)...

So far this is my second Xmas with Jeanie... and like the first one... it kicks a$$... there is hardly any grandeur in our celebrations but the company and the laughs make up for it in spades... the day started off simply enough... our favourite pan mee for breakfast and some window shopping at a furniture outlet... followed by lunch at a claypot rice and herbal soup restaurant near Kayu Nasi Kandar in SS2... some ice cream at Bangsar Village... a lazy afternoon on the sofa with Jeanie... dinner at Sakae Sushi and some window shopping at 1 Utama after that... it may sound like a normal Sunday for most folk but to me this was definitely one of the best Xmas' ever... thanks a bunch snooks...

It grows...

My PSP collection is growing... just bought myself a well deserved birthday and xmas pressie... Legend of Heroes : A Tear of Vermillon... hahahahaha... Its a classic RPG will all the usual elements... missing sibling, revenge, secret plots and last but not least snazzy animations for spells and power attacks... Jeanie seems to enjoy it as well...

Swanky...

Went to have my birthday meal today with Jeanie (I celebrated with Colonel Sanders last night) at the Japanese restauarant at the KL Hilton... and it was in a word... brilliant... the food was great... the scenery looked like it was plucked out of one of those Japanese Travel Books... and it was free... because the darling that Jeanie is, she decided to buy me dinner...

1 Step Closer to Senior Citizens' Benefits...

See You Guys Again Soon...

The old beans flew off today... overall they enjoyed their trip but as usual, someone got food poisoning again... hmm for all I know... it may be tradition... anyway I was a little upset that I couldn't make it to the airport to see them since I was working late and everything... but I got to see them in the morning so its not so bad...

As a whole, I spent more time with them this time around as compared to the last trip eventhough the hours here are more demanding and I'm travelling most of the time... weird but true...

Hopefully, I'll spend even more time with them when they come over in May...

Pure Genius...

Just got myself Logitech's PlayGear Visor™... and I must say... it's pure genius... none of that screen sticker crap for me... ahhhh bliss... who would've thought that this piece of engineering would be cheaper than one of those sticker sh*ts.

They've landed...

After lots of back and forth and numerous phone calls, the old beans are finally here... they looked a little tired at the airport but happy nonetheless... almost felt guilty because I was half an hour late but hey I work hard to make an honest living... anyway back to the narative... we had some drama in the carpark because mom's bag was vibrating due to her super high-tech toothbrush... fitting all the luggage into the car was an achievement in its own right as I have not seen two people travel with 6 pieces of luggage... they kept saying their bags were filled with my stuff... but hey the last time I checked the PSP wasn't large enough to warrant such space...

The drive to the hotel was uneventful and allowed all of us to catch up for a while... when we finally got to the hotel I was a little worried that that it might be sh*te but then again it seemed like the best deal that I could get on such short notice... service for starters was horrible in the the sense that the bellhop saw us unloading but didn't so anything to help... next the lobby was empty and the staff looked like they were napping on the job until we got there... and this was where it set it... "I must have checked them into a brothel!!!!"

A couple minutes and a lift ride later dismissed all that... I felt quite stupid when I saw the room actually... it was FANTASTIC... the room was larger than most apartments in KL to say the least and it was classy enough to make me feel like trailer park trash... after the initial awe and gawking subsided, we proceeded to have dinner at Jeanie's favourite haunt... "Kim Gary"... dinner didn't disappoint and was great as usual but the best thing of the evening was about to materialise... What was the best part of the evening I hear you wonder... Was it getting my PSP? No it wasn't I'm not shallow...

It was having a hot shower and chatting with the old folks actually...

I need protection!!!

Just got home from a meeting with an insurance agent... was looking at some medical plans to cover my butt just in case sh*t hits the fan... am currently torn between two options though... one option costs RM600-ish a year and the other RM980-ish a year... argh!!!... can't decide... Need to get this sorted ASAP...

The 1st of many to come...

I'm so excited about meeting my folks on the 28th... I'm really excited about the PSP GIGA PACK as well... I'm so excited that I have actually started shopping for accessories for it...

I know its lame but... I'm really excited... what can I say... its like a new chapter has opened right before me... wait a minute... it seems I get excited by lots of things these days... sakae sushi, free parking, ribeye steak... argh...

Anyway the first accessory I purchased set me back RM35.00... its basically a USB data cable/charger just in case the travel plug doesn't work... next thing i will buy is a screen protector... I better get my PSP over to my guys in Bangsar Village the day I get it so the screen doesn't get scratched or smudged by all the grubby hands... must resist the temptation not to hug it to sleep hahahaha...

Giving into lust...

After months and months of stealing glances... after months and months of fantasizing about it... after months and months of dreaming of the hours i'll dedicate to it... after dismissing my attraction to it... I... I... I... I finally decided to buy a PSP... not just any PSP mind you... the PSP GIGA PACK... I know I know what you must be thinking... isn't that the ultra premium super pimping version of the PSP... the very same... the one that Sony charges RM1699.00 for... the one some men leave their wives for... the very same one that makes the price of a TV look ridiculously low... that very one...

What is in the box I hear you ask... well here's a list of contents...

PSP Hardware (PSP-1000G1 Giga Pack)
PSP Memory Stick Duo 1GB
PSP Headphones With Remote Control
PSP Soft Case
PSP AC Adapter (100V - 240V, 50/60Hz, works worldwide)
PSP Battery Pack
PSP Stand
PSP USB Cable
PSP Cleaning Cloth

Hahahahahaha... the package above looks better than the hottest models today and makes the value pack look like some crack whore... hahahaha

Where did I get the dollars or RMs for it you ask... technically I should be really broke after the recent holiday to Hong Kong and purchase of new phone... so how did I manage to afford the ultra pimping PSP?... The answer is simple... forecast income...hahahaha

Actually I'm getting it for a whole lot lower than the price that Sony is charging over here... I'm importing it hahaha... I know I know... online deals and shipping might be dodgy... thats why I entrusted my folks with the ardous task...

The PSP GIGA PACK retails for about CAD349.99 + 15% (RM1207.15 approx.)... so the savings are massive...

A couple clicks here and a couple there...

Some fiddling here... and some button-mashing here... and 2 reboots later... I'm finally on the Celcom 3g network... Yay!!!... only manual setups are available now.. . but at least its fairly easy to set up... hmmm it appears that network icon is replaced with a small 3g one... I just hope they don't over charge me...

Tried the mobile internet... hahahahaha... its faster than the broadband in my office... hahahaha... the mms service works... Yay!!!... now I just need to bug Jeanie to setup her mms again... the email works as well but I prefer downloading my emails from the PC just in case some idiot tries to email me a virus...

I'm 3g-ed...

The day finally came.. my trusty 7610 has been wonky for months now... a replacement had to be sourced... after spending a good portion of an hour at the store in Kinta City, I finally traded in my old junk for a shiny new Nokia 6680... apparently the best 3g smartie out at the moment... seemed like the logical choice since it was by far the closest to the old one...
