Another Little Purchase…

I picked up a Steelseries headset with a 7.1 USB sound card yesterday afternoon as I was tired of shopping for a set of speakers that are small enough to be placed in the mini home office…

An interesting thing to note about the USB sound card is that although the box or the website does not say that it will work with Windows 7, it does work… There were no issues with the driver installation and I have not experienced any form of weirdness so far…

The 7.1 mode works well with games and seems to be easier to set up under Windows 7 compared to the 7.1 mode of the Asus Xonar D2X pci-e card… So far I’ve tested it with Resident Evil 5 and COD 5 and they both sound great… Movies seem to have benefited from my little purchase as well as they sound awesome (note: all except for the Dolby Digital Night Mode which sounds a little muddled even though it is supposed to make the speech more distinct)… Overall I highly recommended purchase if you are willing to drop RM 350.00 – RM 400.00!!!

It was a bumper night on mercenaries last night/early this morning as V3NTRIL0QUIST  and I went through the various levels and unlocked the remaining characters. The guy is definitely a master in mercenaries as not only did he fend off tonnes of enemies but he made it look relatively easy… Armed with some tricks I picked up last night, its now time to kick ass in solo mode and help MarauderzMY unlock the characters that he needs!!!

Finally…

After many frustrating nights, MarauderzMY and I finally managed to get our first A ranks for mercenaries!!! Ah the sweet taste if victory!!! I wonder what we will unlock tomorrow???

The Oh So Elusive SS…

Mercenaries mode got the better of me again tonight… i’m really far from my SS rank goal… Perhaps I should aim lower???

The Beauty Of It All…

I can see why Capcom allows us to have a fully upgraded magnum with unlimited ammo after you amass enough bonus points and beat the game… it turns an already engaging game into something more… It becomes art… You get to do the playthrough at a leisurely pace… To see all the things you initially missed when you were trying to outrun the mob… Now not only do you confront them, you go all out to look for them… Not an inch of the map is spared, allowing us to take in the beauty of it all…

A Fine Weekend For Gaming…

I picked up RE 5 and Star Ocean 4 last night, so it looks like its gonna be a fine weekend for gaming!!!

Random RE 5 Observation:

If you have completed Chapter 1-1 and decide to replay it with Chris Redfield and you have a Pistol in your inventory, the game will not proceed when your contact at the butcher shop asks you to collect your weapons from the briefcase… It seems removing the Pistol from the briefcase triggers the next cutscene and therefore allows you to continue with your game…
