One Step Closer...
Went over to the hotel yesterday to put some money down as confirmation for the wedding next year... Coincidentally, the hotel was busy preparing for a wedding later that evening and that allowed me to get some pictures of the venue all dolled up...

Weird...
The dream I had last night was just weird... It must have been a combination of beer, fried food, brownie with ice cream and an ice lemon tea... Well its like this I dreamt that I was at my wedding but for some reason or rather there were several things that were rather off:
- My father wasn't there;
- There was no booze served;
- There was a table of ex-es;
- It was a U-shaped venue (so you couldn't see more than 2 tables at a time);
- It was raining inside the venue (but it seemed like I was the only one that noticed the rain and the little flood); and
- Some characters from the Japanese manga / anime, Bleach were there...
Weird stuff eh???

Warning: Highly disorganized and disjointed post ahead... Cramming in alot of unrelated items in no particular order... Oh and there are a fair bot of pictures as well... So it will be a bitch if you have a slow connection... I would resize them and stuff if I knew how but coming to think of it even if I did know how to do it, I would probably be too lazy to bother... Urm crap, well enough of that.. Urm well you've been warned...

Urm another fuel consumption update!!! YAY!!!
Petrol: Shell Super
Value of gas pumped (G): RM 62.49
Volume of gas in litres (G / 1.92 = L): 32.543 litres
Starting value on the odometer (A): 3114.1 km
Ending value on the odometer (B): 3563.2 km
Total distance traveled (B - A = C): 449.1 km
KM / L (C / L): 13.8 km/l
Ratio of city driving to highway cruising: 3:1
Fuel consumption was better all round as I didn't get cheeky on the roads... If I can continue exercising restraint with the 7 speed manual mode, fuel consumption should be fine...
Ok fuel consumption update aside... Heck its trivial but who cares... Its motoring related... Ok here goes... You know about all those irritating satisfaction surveys over the phone??? Well for the first time I actually made time for the person at the other end of the phone and answered 15 (or so) random questions about the new car (and circumstances leading to the collection of the car) and a few days later... I got something in the mail... What did I get??? Well I got a LEATHER NAME CARD HOLDER!!! NOT JUST ANY NAME CARD HOLDER MIND YOU??? A SUPER UNCLE BLACK LEATHER NAME CARD HOLDER!!! Well not to be an ass or anything, I sincerely appreciate the gesture but I already have a name card holder... It's called a pocket but heck you guys are Japanese so I doubt you would understand... Anyway どうもありがとう。(thank you) guys!!!

In highly unrelated news, I've been thinking about the wedding alot... And I mean ALOT... The finances are one thing (because the quotes are slowly trickling in and its gonna be a bitch... A REAL BITCH to pay for) but that isn't the main thing on my mind... The main thing is how things will change after I get married... I mean for Jeanie and I... I mean to most people it would mean that we become Mr and Mrs Yoroi360... What about the other stuff??? I mean like the size of my family practically doubles in size (heck I don't even know 20% of my relatives and here I am procuring more), her 4 year old brother becomes my brother in law (which effectively makes him the uncle of my future kids), people will start classifying me as an uncle (and Jeanie as an aunty... A hot aunty is still an aunty ok), I'll have to start giving out angpaus to a bunch of money grabbing midgets (to the guy that said "Giving is better than receiving", you can go suck cock and die ok???) and I'll start having her family over at the house (thats really gonna cramp my style man... I mean really)...
Well I don't mean to sound like a pussified excuse of a man or anything, but I sincerely think that all that is worth it because she's better than all that... OK THE EMO STUFF IS OVER... FOR ALL YOU IDIOTS LAUGHING THERE... STOP IN 2 SECS OR I'LL KICK YOUR ASS SO HARD THAT YOU'LL ONLY WAKE UP AFTER THE WEDDING IN 2008... See its not so funny anymore isn't it...
Ok... next... I had a talk with my father today and the topic at hand was kinda weird... Apparently he is a little upset with the fact that I am kinda upset with him... And apparently he has been trying to call me for weeks but each time I picked up his call I didn't say anything... Its either I've been in the twilight zone or something because I am pretty sure none of that happened... Oh well I'm sure its not a problem that some whiskey cannot fix... He'll be in town on the 5th and 6th anyway, so I'll assess the damage then...
Hmm since we are on the topics of fathers, might as well talk about mothers as well... Jeanie's mom just came out of an operation on the 17th and for the life of me, I can't seem to pick up the phone to call her and ask her how she is doing??? I don't know why... I just can't... Is something wrong with me??? Hell I hope not...
OOOOO I know what I wanna get off my chest... Region coding is a BITCH!!! Why my sudden disdain for region coding you might ask??? Well last Friday I picked up the "Two Disc Special Edition" of 300 and I went home to watch it on the 360 (which can upscale dvds via a vga connection) and WTF do I see when I pop in the disc???
The dvd that was supposed to bring me joy instead of popping an artery...

I forgot that the Japanese 360 plays region 2 dvds while the dvds in Asia (outside Japan) are region 3!!! If you need more info on region coding for dvds you can find it here...

I'm Just Worried...
I can't sleep... I'm just so worried that I cannot give Jeanie the wedding that she has always dreamed about... She hasn't asked me for anything before, so it pains me when there is a possibility that she might not get what she wants... She deserves it all... the best of everything... if I can't even give her that, I would have failed her even before she becomes my wife...

Mi Casa Su Casa???
Just got back from a really tiring day... Went to the gym, got some errands sorted and spent a good portion of the afternoon at a bridal studio... Looks much better than the one we signed up with initially... Much better reviews than the previous one too... Have to say that the sales people are fairly patient and seemed to be genuine enough for my liking... the price however is a tad pricier at rm 3688.00 (nett)...
The package includes:
1 unit of a 15" x 10" photo album (20 full page prints);
1 unit of a 12" x 8" photo album (28 full page prints);
1 unit of a 6" x 4" photo album (20 full page prints);
1 carrying case for the photo albums;
1 unit of a CDR with the pictures taken (48 pictures);
2 units of table top photo frames (approximately a4 size prints);
1 unit of 20" x 40" frame with print for the bedroom;
1 unit of a 60" x 24" frame with print for the living room;
60 4R prints with picture holders;
Car decorations for 8 cars (for the convoy cars);
Car decorations for the groom's car;
1 hand bouquet;
5 gowns/coats for the photography (pre-wedding);
3 gowns and 2 coats for the photography (wedding day); and
1 unit of a montage dvd to be played during the wedding dinner(one song)
What do you think??? Good deal or not??? Need to confirm by the 25th... do let me know yeah...

Arrangements...
Arrangements for the venue have pretty much been sorted... Managed to negotiate the price down a little (RM 20.00 down per table before tax may not sound like alot but factor in that we're looking at 35 tables minimum, it adds up to rm 700.00... the price per table is still a grand though... but hey everyone loves wedding food hahahahahahaha) just need to sign some documents on the 8th of next month and it will be done... The ballroom is cozy and can accommodate 450 guests, so we're good... Might decide not to search sharks fin during the banquet dinner as I think some sharks need to lose their fins so that we can get married and have a good time... The decision might irk some but hey, are they really there for the food or spend time with us??? Also made some provisions for the our Jewish and Muslim friends by ensuring that all the food served is kosher / halal... Have not forgotten about the vegetarian friends and have managed to get a quotation for a 8 course vegetarian menu... RM 698.00 better buy alot of veggies!!! Sampled some of their Chinese food during lunch at it seemed alright...

Most of the cards were excessive, befitting more a grand VIP-ish affair unlike our cosy and reserved event with no fanfare but, we did find a couple that we're more toned down and matched our tastes... Basically the cards (inclusive of printing of 2 pages, envelope and design work) will cost approximately rm 1200.00... As for the wedding favours (for the ones we have in mind) that will run for approximately rm 1800.00... The guy however did advise us to go with the run of the mill complementary ones if we managed to get em from the hotel (we are squeezing em for it but we haven't got word back yet... hell I'll squeeze them on the day I drop off the deposit... that way they can smell the money and it would be harder to say no... I hope) and use the money for wedding favours instead...

More Numbers...
As usual, its almost 2.00 am and I can't sleep... Hmmm this looks like an opportunity to squeeze in a fuel consumption update...

Well enough of the fuel consumption thing... You see, I can't sleep because I've got lots on my mind... its not like I am some sort of profound thinker... its just that my mind is filled with many random thoughts right now and some of them are pretty scary... Before you idiots think I am going insane, please allow me to correct you dumbasses by assuring you that I am very sane... well actually more sane than most...
Anyway, I have been thinking alot about the impending wedding and I... urm and I... urm... and I have been working my butt off for so many years that I seem to have lost sight of most of my friends... heck I can't even name more than 10... all the people I know these days are either suppliers, clients or coworkers...
I mean is this right??? Have I really forsaken them all by doing the responsible thing of working my butt off to try to earn a living... Have I given up on forging social networks without placing an objective on the endeavour??? What have I done??? What have I become??? Its come to a stage where I have more business cards of work contacts than photographs of friends... Heck even 6 out of 8 numbers of my speed dial are work related... I don't even recognize the names in my phone book anymore... Is this right???
You see its thoughts like these that keep me up at night... I keep telling myself I need to do something about it but, its always the same... I just get caught up with work until I forget about it again...
Who will I invite to the wedding then??? Who??? Relatives??? Heck I haven't kept in contact with them either... I can't even remember most of them... Work contacts??? They may tolerate me at work because of my rank so who knows if they will really come... Clients??? That may be construed as a conflict of interest... so it might get messy... Who then I wonder??? Who??? Would you like to come???
