Disbanded???

I used to rush home after work to grab a quick dinner so that I could get on xbl to play halo 2 with the same bunch of guys every night... It was grand... The battles were epic, the action thick and fast and everyone had a good time whether they were on the winning team or not... As time moved on, the lineup changed:

1. ahdi's halo 2 disc was involved in a mishap rendering it unreadable;
2. PJ had to go to england to further his studies;
3. robinlkm sold his box;
4. MasteRKost0N was called back to God for a greater purpose;
5. ed1001, ahbiao and djinn opened their store so they didn't have their own boxes at home anymore;
6. MarauderzMY's son came into the world;
7. paanjang16 started work;
8. Merdeka got busy with work I guess;
9. MobiusVyper and keantan started getting busy with school; and
10. tintin00 and xplor3r got busy at work

I'm not saying that I'm gaming less now because the old gang is gaming less, I'm saying that those were the good times and they flew by far too quickly... You never truly appreciate things till they are gone I guess...I just hope the current crop of players will stick around for a while longer...

Merdeka!!!

I may not have gotten any gaming done since I arrived in Singapore on Sunday but I did get to meet Merdeka (of the infamous Care Bears Clan) this afternoon!!! I wonder if I'll meet any other gamers tomorrow...

5 Gs...

Looks like my unhealthy obsession paid off... I unlocked an achievement while playing a game of lonewolves on Construct...

Although the achievement is only worth 5 gs, no other achievement thus far has given me greater joy...

Sticky Goodness...

My obsession with the plasma nades in Halo is unhealthy... really unhealthy... why do I say that??? Well look at this...




As you can see, 11 out of my 14 kills came from sticks... heck I have so many stick clips on my 360 hdd that I don't even know which one to put on my file share (coming to think of it 5 out of 6 of the clips on my file share are of sticks)... Its like the guns don't matter... Hmmm coming to think of it, the biggest draw of the halo franchise for me is the plasma nade...

Halo 3... The scale of the battles are just magnificent... everything is done just right... With every installment of Halo the bars are raised, and with Halo 3 standards are redefined... Its an EPIC adventure and the fitting end...

Its Been A Long Day...

Damn... my feet hurt from all that walking...

Its been a long long day... In a good way though... started the day off by watching episode 20 of heroes... followed it up with brunch at marche... met up with kinky nicky for Spiderman 3 after that (if you haven't watched it yet don't bother as the movie sucks hairy balls)... went for an all you can eat dinner at Bangsar Seafood Village (rm 38.00++ till the end of May 2007) and the food was DIVINE (Jeanie and I are seriously considering the venue for our wedding and we've brought the menus home to have a look... will have a quick word with our folks to see what they think)!!! After pigging out for two hours, I proceeded home for a gun orgy of halo 2 with cerebralrogue, keantan and assorted matchmaking boffins... the games were kick ass I tell you... no where as hectic as the gaijin-isation games but still top class (speaking of which... where did all the japanese go??? Is it some holiday in Japan, because I can't seem to find a lost planet ranked match)... the gun orgy that is halo 2 was promptly followed up with some more wanton violence in the form of riot act... Phew... I wish I had more days like this...

Its good to be back on halo 2 but, everything feels weird... it seems like the sensitivity has been bumped up a great deal... everything is off... I'm even playing with a rubberband tied around by r stick to help slow down the look speed... sigh... when can I use my favourite implement of destruction again??? Hopefully soon...

Finally...

After all these nights of banging my head against the wall, it finally worked... after testing that I could finally go online with my halo 2, I downloaded all the map packs again... hopefully they'll be some halo 2 action tonight before I continue with the gainjin-isation...

After All This Time...

After a couple days of trying to update my halo 2... I've decided that its wasted too much of my time and its not worth all the grief thats its caused... I even deleted the whole halo 2 directory from my 360 hdd...

After failing to update for the 17243287th time, I would just like to say...

MAY YOU BUNGIE FUCKS BE TORN TO SHREDS BY A MILLION RAZOR BLADES, YOU DAMN COCK SUCKING SHIT GUZZLING CUNTS... Oh by the way fuckfaces, I was gonna buy the new map packs (both of them), so I guess you cunts lost out...

Ceteris Peribus...

It was a long frustrating day in the office, so I fired up halo 2 immediately when I got home... No one was on except ahbiao so we played a couple 1 vs 1 matches just to blow some steam... of the games we played, two stood out... the two games stood out because it showed that all else being constant (ceteris peribus), the map does play a pivotal role in determining the outcome...


On the warlock map I got my ass handed to me big time... I mean I was practically whipped into submission... 14 to 4 it was... The score would have been much higher if not for the 8 minute time limit... ahbiao moved well and used the structures on the map to dodge most of my shots before jumping in for some close range kills when I was reloading... overall a rather humbling match...


On midship... things were very different... I clearly cannot match ahbiao in terms of raw skill and experience but the playing field was leveled somewhat due to the general layout of the weapons on the map... I always feel more comfortable on midship because I know that everything I need or want is in close proximity and the fact that the weapons on the map suit my so called "playing style" is a plus...

ZZzzzZZZZZzzZZZZ...

Its slightly after 2.00 am... I should be in bed but I'm not... Its irritating that I'm really tired but I can't sleep... I tried lying down for a bit but I still didn't fall asleep... Oh well, hopefully after reading the news and some of my email I'll be able to sleep...

Got home from work relatively early today (as in yesterday) and was on XBL by 8.00pm... keantan and MobiusVyper were on as well and we managed to cram 8 games within 2 hours, TintinOoO and mav3tan joined in as well... strangely enough MarauderzMY was no where to be seen...

The sword weilding maniac (keantan) put on a stellar performance today by slicing everyone in his path like salami (KSI style)... My favourite Indonesian (MobiusVyper) was brilliant as usual and he pulled off a plethora of sick sticks, lightning quick BxR's and countless snipes... TintinOoO on the other hand was conducting a master class on how to kick ass... What was I doing??? I was just trying to stay alive and die less to be honest...

Gosh...

Gosh... I fell asleep while driving just now... Man that was too close (I still have the imprint of the steering wheel on my forehead)... Will definitely get home and rest tonight... No late nights in front of the PC for me... Drats look like my internet connection will be under-utilised tonight...

Weekend Warriors...

I know I said that I would post a picture of my super satisfying dinner when I got home from work on Saturday, but with all the halo 2 action that went on during the weekend I didn't have time to be honest... I'll do it when I get home from work tomorrow (er... I mean today)...

I won't be writing a post carnage report of the games as Mobiusvyper has already done so on his blog...
Mobiusvyper's report has to be taken with a pinch of salt as he has a habit of making everyone look good while downplaying his own achievements (the boy is too humble for his own good)... and although I have alot of respect for him, this is total bullcrap...

Why is the above bullcrap??? Well its simple really...

1- I'm no sticky master; and
2- He taught me how to play the game proper (and that includes sticking)...

So who is the real sticky master eh???

Halo Marathon...

Last night ahbiao, ed1001, Mobiusvyper, keantan, Xenofr3ak, TintinOoO, mav3tan (note: team killing fucktard) and I played a whopping 14 games of halo 2... it was good but it was no where as satisfying as my dinner... will post a picture of it when I get home later...

Some Halo 2 Loving...

There was some serious halo 2 loving last night (map loading issues aside) as MobiusVyper, MarauderzMY, Keantan, Xenofr3ak, Huss Wuss and I battled it over 4 games...

As usual MobiusVyper's technique was flawless and he pulled off an array of jaw-dropping snipes and sticks...

MarauderzMY put up a consistent performance in all 4 matches (he was always in the top slots)... but it felt a little weird as he was not as vocal as he used to be (bring back those warrior screams now!!!)... but he was a force to be reckoned with nonetheless...

Keantan was running around with the energy sword as usual and gave the seasoned veterans like MobiusVyper and MarauderzMY a run for their money...

Last night was the first time I played with Xenofr3ak as he's been offline for the past couple of months... Xenofr3ak provided some of the comic relief as he kept getting confused as to the game type at hand... Xenofr3ak also gave the veterans a run for their money but the fruits of hardcore training and sheer experience eventually wore him down...

Huss Wuss is the new recruit of the bunch and from the get go he showed much promise... so I think the veterans better keep an eye on his progress in the next couple of months as he can easily be a contender for one of the top slots...

How did I do??? Well I was as inconsistent as always and I always tend to get myself in messy messy situations... like walking onto plasma nades, falling off the map, running into an energy sword weilding maniac (yes Keantan I am talking about you)... I guess you guys get the picture...

And now to the highlights of the 4 games...

10 - Xenofr3ak asking "Aren't we playing team slayer???" halfway into a slayer game on midship... Bless you my confused friend... that caused me to throw a plasma nade at the floor resulting in a suicide due to all the laughter...

9 - MarauderzMY and Mobiusvyper screaming and squealing as they were fighting for the top place in slayer on midship...

8 - The abundance of hi-5 stick opportunities... OMG just look at all those stick medals...

7 - Xenofr3ak professing that halo 2 is the most exciting game on the face of this planet while running around the map wielding a needler...

6 - Rockets on lockout... need I say more???

5 - MarauderzMY pwning us noobs...

4 - Accidentally falling us the map because I sword-lunged MobiusVyper when he was standing at the ledge on lockout...

3 - Being blown up countless times by the 16 year old suicide bomber (yes I am talking about you again Keantan if you haven't noticed)...

2 - Spawn killing Keantan and Xenofr3ak (hahahahaha yes Keantan, I'm talking about you again)...

1 - Just being able to play with a great bunch of people...

Hopefully there will be more halo 2 loving action tonight... its been a long time since we had some decent games...

Hmmm I wonder if we can initiate a clan wars game since, some of us are already in "Eddy Sux"...

Now all I need to do is make sure I can get home from work early tonight and mass invite everyone on my list to play halo 2 again...

Edit: Also need to pray that that map loading thing doesn't happen tonight...
