#MVC3 !!!

I’m gonna take some time off World Of Warcraft and dedicate it to Marvel Vs Capcom 3 !!! Its gonna be fun, fun, fun !!!

I picked up Medal of Honour before dinner… Lets see what all that fuss is about…

Brainsssssss!!!

Dead Rising 2 is very much like Dead Rising 1… So if you liked the first game you should like the second… So is that a good thing or bad thing??? Well it slides both ways really… Some will cry foul that it feels very much like Dead Rising 1.5 while some will just accept that Capcom is just refining a “tried and tested” formula…

Either way, you can help but feel that the game designers got lazy and decided to be really liberal with the “cut and paste”… The “cut and paste” spree doesn’t just include the environments and character models, it includes the bosses as well!!! Not convinced, well play the game and let me know if the family of rednecks and butcher from the first game remind you of any of the bosses from the second game… Hell even one particular NPC looks like Isabelle from the first game!!!

By now, it must seem that the game is nothing more than a soulless sequel put out to milk the fans for all their hard earned cash right??? Well not exactly, because unlike the first game, this one is best experienced with a friend!!! YES!!! There is multiplayer and it is AWESOME!!! Who would have thought that slaughtering zombies using everyday household items with a friend could be so satisfying???

So my advice to you aspiring zombie killers is to ignore all the negative reviews you see online about Dead Rising 2 and pick it up… Who knows there might be another zombie killer out there that needs your help…  

The Last 11 Days…

Its been a really eventful 11 days since I last updated my blog… Here is a recap of what happened in that period…

1 – I picked up Halo: Reach;

2 – I went for my first ICC 10 Man; and

3 – My WOW account was compromised and locked down (twice in the span of 11 days)…

I wonder what will happen next week??? Dead Rising 2 perhaps???

Its Really Amazing!!!

The density of the cannon fodder aka meat shields aka grenade magnets enemies in Crackdown 2 is just breathtakingly amazing!!! Who would have thought that one rocket can lead to a 5 second gib shower???

Picked up Splinter Cell : Conviction yesterday and I’m done with the single player story!!! Now to got some multiplayer time in!!!

Urm… That Was A Little Disturbing…

I just finished one of the “loyalty” sub-missions for Mass Effect 2 and I have to say I found the plot to be a little disturbing… Well not reveal any spoilers, I have to say that, power can really change a guy…

The Throat Mic Revisited!!!

I got the throat mic a few weeks ago, and I’ve been putting it through it’s paces ever since… I have to say that while it does feel weird initially to have something wrapped around your throat it does deliver on the goods on all fronts!!! Voices are clear and crisp both on the mic and earplug… The only thing you might want to watch out for is the volume… It does seem to be louder than the official headsets, so you might want to crank up the volume a little less enthusiastically!!!

Overall, I would say its a fine purchase if you play alot of multiplayer games but if you’re just into casual gaming, there are cheaper alternatives!!!

Darksiders was awarded “10 out of 10” points by Play Magazine, so I just had to get a copy and find out if it deserves all the good feedback its been getting…

Will let you know after I clock some game time…

A New Mic!!!

My wireless mic has been giving me problems lately so I went out to get a replacement last Friday.

Instead of opting for the usual MS branded ones, I got a MadCatz one instead!!! Not any MadCatz one mind you but the throat mic designed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!!!

A full review will be up after I’ve used it for a week. So stay tuned.

Florence Is Beautiful This Time Of Year…

I just started playing Assassin’s Creed 2 last night and it has been great so far!!!

Will I enjoy as much as the first one??? Well that depends on what the next few hours have in store!!!

Two Days…

I’m currently on a two day retreat in the mountains, so gaming is gonna take a back seat till I get back home… When I get back home, its time for a short review on the masterpiece that is l4d2…

Beauty In Chaos – Bayonetta – 2 Hours In…

My wife got me Bayonetta as an anniversary gift and I must say, the time I have put into it so far, has been nothing short of an adrenaline rush!!! Firstly as Marauderz puts it, “Bayonetta is probably the only game thus far that thrusts the player into the action before an intro movie”… and you know what, he’s right… The player is thrown into the mix of killing all that is angelic in what??? 30 secs from the title screen… All this without even a hint of what the controls

are, while some might scoff at the lack of overly self indulgent cutscene ala Kojima to set the mood and pace of things to come, I prefer wanton destruction and narration accompanying meat showers any day!!!

The action comes in from all angles thick and fast and even through all that, the game engages you in a way that motivates you to play better, dispatch the enemies quicker and performing the most visually impressive combos that you can think of…

In between the action there are several QTE and puzzle segments to inject some variation in the game but these serve on to make you yearn the next fight more as you cannot wait to try out a new combo on the next unsuspecting enemy…

While I have not played the game as much as I would have liked, it has passed the ever-so-important-two-hour test, meaning that if it can still hold my attention after two hours of gameplay, it is definitely a game worth playing…
