We have finally reached the grand finale of the whole tv saga... The guys from samsung came over... showed me the burnt bits and the replacements... opened up the back of the rptv (with a really big electric screwdriver)... looked into the cabinet... tagged the wires... slid the boards in... plugged in the connectors and wires... tested the voltage... entered the service menu... put the rptv back together... tested all the av inputs... did the setup... and when they thought they could leave (after 2 hours of fiddling with the tv), I made them calibrate the tv to the settings which I got from a guy that works for an av mag in Hong Kong (which took another 45 minutes)... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... had different settings for cable tv, dvd playback and the xbox too!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... and as expected the calibartion took the bitter aftertaste of paying RM 700.00 for the repairs away... Did I mention that I got them to calibrate my R7 as well??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
